Dr. Bill Roes knows just about everybody on the Key Peninsula—and he’s asking them all to get vaccinated.

Dr. Bill Roes came to the Key Peninsula in 1981 to help with a physician shortage. In the 40 years since, not much has changed.

“I’m still the only physician out here,” he said. “I know a lot of people. Not everyone, but many.”

That works both ways. Not everyone, but many in the tight-knit rural community come to Community Health Care’s Key Medical Center to see him—and he’s been working hard to get as many of them who are eligible vaccinated against COVID-19.

“The Key Peninsula has a fair number of underinsured and underemployed people that don’t have access to programs,” he said. “They are very cautious about how they spend their money.”

That’s why he tells folks the vaccines are always free. You don’t need insurance or ID. You can schedule a shot or walk-in to his clinic even if you’re not a regular patient and get your dose today.
