  • Permitting Updates

    Find out your application status.

Your must submit, complete and pay for your application to move to initial review. Click the button below to see our current application review status. We update this info weekly.

Get faster review of your onsite and well applications

Submit a complete application packet the first time.

Need to add information to your application? Please only submit once.

      • Subject Line: include property address.
      • Service Request number (e.g., SR0123456).
      • Site address.
      • Parcel number.
      • Description of document.

Set your site up for success

Field staff need a site map and reasonable access to the site, soil test pits and well sites.

    • Construct soil test pits with sloped access. This keeps our staff safe and helps you avoid re-inspection and associated fees.
    • Please help us with good planning and communication. Last minute changes or appointment cancellations can dramatically affect our efficiency and review timelines.

Tips for a smoother application process

We see more than half of applications with submittal errors. Your application may be delayed if your submittal is incomplete or if we can’t identify the proposed plan. Make sure to include:

      • The correct application and fee type.
      • An accurate and clear site plan.
      • All attachments or documents in the correct location.
      • Detailed description of the proposed work.
      • Labels for other property structures on the design or site plan.
      • Your payment.

When you apply online, we automatically generate an invoice.

        • You’ll get an email confirmation with an account and invoice number. Anyone can use these numbers to pay online.
        • To pay with a check, mail a check with a copy of the invoice to: Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department, 3629 S. D St., MS 1035, Tacoma, WA 98418.
