Learn How to Care for Your Septic at Free Workshop on Key Peninsula

Sep 20, 2017

TACOMA, Wash. – Healthy septic systems help keep Key Peninsula beautiful. Residents can learn more about their septic systems at Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department’s free workshop.

The workshop is Oct. 12, 5:30-8 p.m., at Key Peninsula Civic Center, 17010 South Vaughn Road Kp N, Vaughn. Residents can learn septic system basics, troubleshooting tips, and the importance of septic maintenance and legally required routine inspections.

“Properly working septic systems play an important role in the health of our beautiful marine environment,” said Gary Porter, Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department program manager. “The workshop will help residents learn steps they can take to protect their septic—and Puget Sound lakes, rivers, and beaches,” Porter said.

Septic industry experts—including Flo Hawks, A Advanced Septic Services, Express Septic Service, and Cooper Consulting—will give presentations. The Health Department will offer up to $450-discounts on septic services for those who qualify. Residents can get copies of their system records and enter a raffle for free septic services and other prizes.
